Wednesday 29th September - FAQ's added on one off payments, ASB Fastnet and transferring Ace Payroll to another computer.

Saturday 25th September - Case law article added re changing employee's pay frequency and FAQ added showing how to do this in Ace Payroll.

Wednesday 22nd September - FAQ's added on extra emoluments, entry of pay clerk details for the employers monthly schedule and installing a Microsoft Service Pack. Link added to the new Government discussion document on tax improvements for business.

Tuesday 21st September - Links added to full instructions for reinstalling Win95/98 to a clean disk or reinstalling a Win95 upgrade to a clean machine both on Joe's Fairly Useful Tips site.

Wednesday 8th September - Our phones were down for 30 minutes yesterday between 9.30am and 10.00am. We apologise for any inconvenience. Why the phones were down is a long story, which our resident poet has documented.

Monday 6th September - FAQ's added on loading allowance to an employee, program registration and checking prior period filed.

Saturday 4th September - FAQ's added on finishing dates entered prior to filing payroll and assigning pays to departments.

Thursday 2nd September - FAQ's added on electronic banking batch numbers, overwriting extra emolument tax and termination holiday pay calculation.

Tuesday 31st August - FAQ added explaining documentation for terminated employee.

Sunday 29th August - Holiday Pay FAQ's added about salaried staff.

Saturday 28th August - Whoops!! Alan Cressey, our contributing employment law specialist, advises that in the Tucker case the Court of Appeal did not make any findings about medical certificates and accordingly the law is currently uncertain as to whether an employer can insist on these.

Thursday 19th August - Our web site and office intranet project now consists of 487 files, so we took time out this week to write a program to manage it. As a result all our web pages are now computer generated, giving them a more consistent look and making them easier to maintain. Your comments and feedback are most welcome.

Sunday 15th August - Case Law section added providing interpretations of employment law.

Thursday 5th August - Version 3.05P released and FAQ added on printed IR348 employer monthly schedules rejected by the IRD.

Printing of Employer Monthly Schedules
We have received IRD written approval of our employer monthly schedule printout routines. They are included in version 3.05L released today. Download a copy from this site or alternatively call if you are more comfortable with the latest version on disk.

Select Committee Submission
The Select Committee inquiring into the powers and operations of the Inland Revenue Department resumes on Wednesday 2nd June to start hearing submissions from the public. We suspect our submission had some impact because we have been asked to appear before the committee at 4.50pm that very same day. Read our submission if interested.
