Defining Pay Rates

Go to Setup, then Company Defaults, then Pay Rate Structure.

Do the following in order

  1. Click on the description field of the first unused rate. Enter the description that you want shown for the new pay rate.

  2. By default the rate is not related to any other rate. To make it a multiple of another rate click on the third column for your new pay rate - it is headed "Field". You are presented with a list of pay rates - select the one you want to relate it to.

To make the new rate "Time & Quarter" related the new rate to "Ordinary Hours".

  3. If making the rate a multiple of another rate enter the appropriate multiplier in the second column headed "Mult". To define a Time & Quarter rate enter 1.25 here.

  4. You can enter a default rate in the fourth column headed "Rate". If a value is entered here then all employees are paid the default rate unless you specifically set a pay rate for the employee.
